The Invicto uses a 1,987cc Atkinson-cycle petrol engine paired with an AC synchronous electric motor and a nickel-metal hydride battery, producing 186 hp combined through an e-CVT.

In practice, this is a very relaxed vehicle to be in. It pulls away silently on electric power, holds EV mode at low city speeds, and switches to petrol so smoothly that most passengers won't notice.
