Mercedes Rolls Out Its 2,00,000th Made-in-India Car It’s the EQS SUV!

Let me tell you some amazing news—Mercedes-Benz has reached a big milestone in India! The luxury brand has now assembled 2,00,000 cars in the country, and guess which model marked this celebration? It was the all-electric EQS SUV, rolled out from their Chakan plant in Pune

Friends, this is a big deal because the first 50,000 cars took 19 years to make, but the next 1,50,000 were done in just 10 years

That’s a massive jump—you understood, right? This Chakan facility has come a long way

In fact, in 2015, it became the first place outside Germany to build the Mercedes-Maybach S500

Over the years, Mercedes has invested over ₹3,000 crore into this plant, and just last year, they added ₹200 crore more

This factory now builds both petrol/diesel and electric cars under one roof, which is quite rare

Let me tell you, friends, they started making the EQS electric sedan in 2022, and then the EQS SUV in 2024

And guess what? The plant now runs fully on renewable energy too! Talking about sales—Mercedes sold 18,928 cars in FY2025, their best-ever performance in a year

The E-Class LWB was their top-seller, and electric cars also did well, especially the EQS SUV

SUVs made up 60% of their total sales, and high-end cars above ₹1

5 crore grew by 34%

You understood, right? Let me tell you friends, this year Mercedes plans to launch 8 new models in India, and some like the G 580, EQS 450 SUV, and Maybach SL 680 roadster are already here

So, if you love luxury cars, this is the time to stay excited!
