Friends, let me tell you, we are rapidly marching towards progress in the electric vehicle space. FY2025 saw a massive jump in the sales of EVS with a total of 20,26,184 EVs sold attaining a 15.31% growth from FY-2024. Two-wheelers dominate this segment with 12,03,223 units sold, accounting for 59.38% of the total sales. In this front, Ola Electric, TVS Motor, and Bajaj Auto were at the top but noted a minor drop in market share for Ola Electric.  Next, electric three-wheelers, with 7,02,799 units sold, also took second place with 34.69% of the total sales. The FJ will sit below the Fortuner in Toyotas lineup, making it a more affordable option. It’s a rugged pickup truck, a body on frame pickup truck based on the IMV 0 platform similar to the Hilux Champ it's intended for off-road usage and rough toughness. The SUV will sport a distinct combination of retro and modern design elements courtesy of round headturners — and perhaps making an appearance here, squared off ones like the Land Cruiser 250. The Land Cruiser FJ will be slightly more compact than the Fortuner, as it will be approximately 4,550 mm long and 1,860 mm tall, making it an ideal pick for the adventure junkie. Fueling the FJ will most likely be a 2.7L petrol engine paired with a full-time 4WD system, which should still open it up for off-road action despite the low sticker price. With a starting price hovering around the ₹22.80 lakh mark, the FJ could really shake up markets worldwide, and who knows?

Guys, listen to me, Tesla is all set to enter the Indian market and it is doing things in swiftly. Testing for the facelifted Model Y has already begun on Indian roads suggesting it may soon be on sale in the country as well. The Model Y and the Model 3 are also on top of the company's homologation agenda for India. That would be a big deal as these two models will be the first ones from the brand when Tesla finally launches in India.  Now, lads, about the Model Y facelift… This new version, announced in January 2025, features some nifty enhancements. They, got an example, improved the car’s aerodynamics, and made it more efficient. You’ll see the car’s new front and rear lighting design, and it’s looking pretty sharp. Inside, the Tesla Model Y features its typical minimalist style, with a prominently mounted 15.4-inch touchscreen in the center of the dash and a separate 8.0-inch touchscreen for rear-seat passengers. Isn’t that cool, friends?  The Model Y is available in two variants RWD and Long Range AWD. CLTC longer-range figures claim a pearly 719km for the RWD variant and 662km for the Long Range AWD. The AWD does 0-100 kph in 4.3 seconds, RWD in 5.9 seconds. That's some serious speed!  Now friends let me tell you this is a huge deal for Tesla entering into India. They already have one showroom in Mumbai and are also searching for a place in Delhi. They’ve even begun hiring in India for customer support, sales and product development among other roles. Tesla intends to avoid Completely Built Units (CBUs) in the initial phase while considering contract manufacturing rather than building a brand-new plant from scratch immediately.  But listen here, pals: Tesla’s got its struggles. In China, the company has been up against tough competition and struggling to keep pace with brands like BYD and Xiaomi. Tesla's cars are slowing down in demand in the European country and interest in US markets is slowing too. That is why it's so important for Tesla to crack the Indian market — and the way to do that will be its pricing strategy. If they get that part right they are in for some major success!

 Now, friends, let me tell you, when the battery hits 15%, the car asks if you want to switch to power-saving mode. This mode limits the motor's peak power to 20% and slows your speed to about 85-90 km/h. You can use this mode every day, too, if you want to stretch the battery, but don’t expect it to make the range 500 km on the highway. It won’t do that. However, if you’re driving calmly, it works pretty well. I’ve attached an image of the trip meter for you to see.

Friends, I’ll tell you about Skoda India’s second-generation Kodiaq, the which has just been launched, priced from ₹ 46.89-48.69 lakh (ex- showroom). When it first came out, it may seem like juzt another facelift, but look more carefully--is is not only different. Kodiaq now has a whole new design, enhanced interiors with even more features "to play with", and an updated drivetrain. How does the new Kodiaq compare with the old one then, friends?Friends, let me tell you, the exterior design of Kodiaq seems to retain some elements of the previous style. But believe me: there are also marked differences. The front grille is bigger now and with a cleaner appearance generally, having removed bigger air vents for them to be relocated elsewhere. The LED daytime running lamps now run right into the grille, giving it a modern feel at last. As for the side profile, the alloy wheels are still 18 inches across but have Tin to a new Hz-optimized design. Kodiaq has also grown 59mm longer, although its wheel-base remains unchanged at 2.791mm. The rear is given a more handsome facelift, with C-shaped led-tail lights connected by a reflective strip, a two-tone-silvery-deeper rear lower spoiler and Sportline still has those cool matte accessories.  Now, let me tell you friends, the new Kodiaq’s interior is a huge upgrade.More advanced materials like wood or leather have been used for the high dashboard and side Hardware details are now finished in a wing form effect that extends right around to encompass the digital instrument screens and multimedia display above ambient lighting strip below adds another stroke of imagination to the passenger compartment.The touchscreen with the three dials is even larger than in outgoing models reaching a full thirteen inches instead of twelveand it now sits higher up above the dashboard than before mounted on top rather than making do with space at bottom as was once case. This setup offers more features too.The gear selector has been moved to behind the steering wheel and more space has been freed up for larger cup holders but also wireless charging pads or storage compartments.However, three rotary dials for control of heating and ventilation are to be found alongside two knobs that look like they control audio volume levels on the lower reaches which makes for one less thing friends need worry about.Friends, let me tell you that the new Kodiaq’s 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 204hp and 320Nm of torque, an improvement on the old version’s 14hp. As before, it is fitted with a 7-speed DCT transmission and all-wheel drive system.One major difference is that the Dynamic Chassis Control system which used to come as standard on previous model is not available for this car. The system let you adjust suspension for such things like comfort or sporty driving, friends. Now it doesn’t offer that means no one has ever seen our clean new Kodiaq on limbering around a banked circuit with plumes of dust spurting up apart from in dreams.something that till last season was permitted of regular stock cars without even batting an eye or indeed thinking twice about it.  As for price friends, the Laurin & Klement trim of the new Kodiaq is going to get you a bit back in terms of change. The official price (ex-showroom) is ₹8.7 lakh more than what your predecessor cost. But even so as before though for all this extra outlay don't worry about getting absolutely nothing back and at least there are some indications that performance may be slightly better.And of course, friends, the Kodiaq comes from the same factory as before, so they should be able to keep these price levels despite its elevated status. Friends, let me tell you, under the hood of the new Kodiaq is a 204hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that delivers 320Nm of torque. This is an upgrade of 14hp over the previous version, but the torque remains the same. The Kodiaq comes with a 7-speed DCT gearbox and standard all-wheel drive on both trims. Skoda claims a fuel efficiency of 14.86 km/l.  When it comes to the exterior design, friends, the new Kodiaq has a slightly rounder look compared to the old model, which was sharper. It still has the split headlamps, but now with new LED daytime running lamps that extend into the grille. The bumper gets functional air vents, and the bonnet has new, more muscular power bulges. The wheelbase remains the same, but the car is 59mm longer than the previous model. The Sportline trim gets a more sporty look with blacked-out features and a unique design for the alloys.  Inside, friends, let me tell you, the Kodiaq’s cabin is completely redesigned. The dashboard has a new winged design, and the 13-inch floating touchscreen is the centerpiece. There’s a new 10-inch digital display for the driver, and the rotary dials for the HVAC system have been retained, but they now also control volume and drive modes. The front seats on the L&K trim get massage functions and ventilation, while the Sportline trim gets sporty bucket seats.  Friends, let me tell you about some of the new features that make this Kodiaq even more luxurious. You get a panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 13-speaker Canton sound system, 3-zone climate control, and an electric tailgate with gesture control. The safety features are top-notch, with 9 airbags, ESC, hill start assist, multi-collision brake, and more.  As for the competition, friends, the new Kodiaq will go up against rivals like the Jeep Meridian, Nissan X-Trail, and the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line. For its price, it also competes with the Hyundai Tucson and Citroen C5 Aircross. So, if you're in the market for a luxurious midsize SUV, this Kodiaq should definitely be on your list!

Tata Punch: This car sold almost 2 lakh units. In fact, 1,96,572 units were sold, marking a 16% increase compared to the previous year. Hyundai Creta: 1,94,871 units of the Creta were sold in the last financial year, showing a 20% annual increase. Its stylish look, feature-packed cabin, and solid performance made it a true king of the midsize SUV segment.  Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Around 1.89 lakh units of the Brezza were sold, with an 11% yearly increase. The Brezza is known for its great mileage, style, and affordability, making it a trusted option for both city and highway drives.  Maruti Suzuki Fronx: This one’s a bit new but did amazingly well. 1,66,216 units were sold, showing a 23% growth. Its crossover look and modern features have made it a favorite among young buyers. If you fold down the third-row seats (which split 50:50), the capacity increases to 786 liters, and with the second row down, the total space goes up to a massive 1,976 liters. Today, we'll compare electric vehicles (EVs) and CNG cars. As EVs gain popularity, many wonder if they save money over time compared to traditional CNG models. To explore this, we tested two versions of the Tata Tiago— the Tiago EV and Tiago CNG— to see which one costs less when considering both purchase price and running expenses.  During our test drive, we took both cars on city roads and highways. Before starting, each car was either fully charged or filled with CNG. Our aim was to calculate the cost per kilometer for each vehicle and see how long it takes for the EV’s higher upfront cost to pay off through savings.  Refueling is easier with the CNG Tiago. CNG stations are everywhere, so refueling is quick and simple. On the other hand, the EV benefits from growing charging infrastructure. It offers a smoother ride and is quieter and more comfortable than the CNG model. While CNG refueling is convenient, the EV provides a better driving experience overall.  There are some drawbacks to the CNG version. Its acceleration is slower, especially when overtaking. It also gets noisier during city driving. The Tiago EV runs more smoothly, with little engine noise and less lag in power, making it more fun to drive.  Range worry can affect EV drivers. In our test, the Tiago EV covered about 169 km on a full charge. After 56 km of driving, the remaining range was 133 km. Although it was not a big issue, the driver felt a little uneasy about the range indicator. CNG drivers do not worry about this because fuel stations are everywhere.  Now, let’s talk about costs. Charging the Tiago EV at home costs roughly ₹1.6 per km. Fast charging increases that to ₹3.75 per km. The Tiago CNG costs around ₹3.78 per km to run. Even with a higher initial price, the EV tends to save money over time, especially for daily drives of about 100 km. Its lower running costs make it cheaper in the long run, despite a bigger initial spend.  In the end, if you drive less than 50 km each day, the CNG Tiago is a good choice. It costs less upfront and has lower operating costs. But if your daily drive is longer, the EV pays off over time. It saves money, offers more comfort, and charging stations are increasing.  To wrap it up, the CNG Tiago works best for those who drive less often and want a cheaper initial buy. A lot of this comes from the battery, which makes up about 60% of the total cost. Plus, a lot of parts in EVs are imported, driving the price even higher. 31% of people also aren't too excited about the idea of paying for battery replacements, which is another cost to consider. And here's a fun fact: 28% of people think that running an EV, when you factor in charging and maintenance, might cost more than a regular car.  3. Range Anxiety Friends, I’m sure you’ve heard the term range anxiety, right? And let me tell you, it’s a real thing for a lot of people. 35% of potential buyers are unsure whether the range that manufacturers advertise for EVs is actually achievable. In real life, the range often ends up being less than what's promised. And in India, there aren’t enough charging stations for long trips, so traveling across the country in an EV feels like a big gamble. 22% of people are concerned that the limited range and a lack of charging infrastructure will make it difficult to travel beyond their local areas, which holds them back from buying an EV.  4. New Technologies Friends, let me tell you, the technology in EVs can be a little overwhelming for some. Many potential buyers, especially older people (around 29% of them), aren’t comfortable with all the advanced tech that comes with EVs. These are people who may have the money to buy an EV but just aren’t interested in dealing with so much new technology in their cars. They’d rather stick to what they know. All the complex gadgets and tech features can be a big turn-off for them.  5. People are starting to question if these goals are truly being met. Xpeng believes that with their pricing and advanced technology, they could bring a real change to the Indian market—even when you factor in import duties.  But that’s not all, friends. Xpeng is also keeping an eye on the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which they plan to introduce in India soon. Right now, their main focus is on rolling this technology out in Europe and Southeast Asia, but once that’s underway, they’re looking to bring it to India too. The Kia EV3 has just won the 2025 World Car of the Year award! This amazing achievement was announced at the New York International Auto Show on April 16, 2025. The Kia EV3 beat out two other strong contenders – the BMW X3 and the Hyundai Inster / Casper Electric – to claim the top spot. What's even more exciting is that this is the third time a Kia vehicle has won this prestigious award, after the Kia Telluride (2020) and the Kia EV9 (2024). Pretty cool, right? The Hyundai Inster / Casper Electric bagged the 2025 World Electric Vehicle of the Year award, while the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS took home the World Performance Car of the Year title. Volvo’s EX90 earned the 2025 World Luxury Car of the Year, and the Volkswagen ID. Buzz won the World Car Design of the Year. Friends, let me tell you about my experience with the Innova Hycross and how I’m loving it so far! It’s my very first automatic transmission car, and trust me, it’s been a great ride! The ADAS features are amazing – I’ve never experienced them before, and they’re so precise and non-intrusive. It’s like having a helping hand on the road!  Friends, you understood, right? So here’s how the whole process went: I booked the ZX(O) variant in Blackish Aghea Glass Flake on January 21st. After a couple of follow-ups, I finally got the vehicle at the dealership on March 26th. The whole process with Ravindu Toyota was smooth, and they were really helpful. When I got my car, they even gave me a little car perfume and a gift to go along with it. Super nice touch, right?  Let me tell you, switching from manual to automatic was a little nerve-wracking at first. Saturday traffic in Bangalore is the worst, and I was pretty stressed about driving a brand-new car. But once I got onto familiar roads, it got easier, and I felt more confident. I also drove about 290 km in the first two weeks, mainly through stop-and-go traffic, and I’m still getting used to the car. The mileage was a bit low at first, but I’m not too worried about it right now. I’ll keep an eye on it after the first service.  I really like how easy it is to drive, even in the city. The 360-degree camera and sensors make parking a breeze, and the Toyota i-connect app is a lifesaver. There have been times I’ve wondered if I locked the car or left a window open, and the app sends me alerts about it – how cool is that? The AC and other small features like the hold feature for bumper-to-bumper traffic are great too. Wireless CarPlay works perfectly, and I’m happy with the music system.  I’m still yet to test the headlights properly on a highway, but overall, I feel like I’m getting to know the car better every day. By the way, we’ve named the car Bison because of its sturdy feel and large size. The black color gives it this strong, bold look, and it just fits the name perfectly.  So, friends, I’m really enjoying the Innova Hycross so far and can’t wait for more adventures with Bison!

Friends, let me tell you about my recent 500 km trip with my Mahindra BE6, and how this EV really impressed me! It was my first real road trip in an electric car, and I was curious to see how it would perform. The trip had a mix of highway driving, some scenic routes, and a few breaks along the way.  Friends, you understood, right? So, I picked a nice eco resort on the Trimbakeshwar road, just outside of Nashik, because it had a JioBP DC Fast charging station right on the premises. The stay was wonderful, but that’s not the focus here! I wanted to see how the Mahindra BE6 would handle a trip like this, just like I would with any ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) car. I had two people onboard and a decent amount of luggage, and the car handled it all well.  On the way there, I made a couple of stops – one for a quick tea break, and another to visit a relative. I was driving on a familiar highway, so I decided to test out the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) features. Lane Keep Assist, Lane Centering, and the way the car handled slowing down and speeding up with traffic was pretty impressive. The car didn’t just sprint back to match speed after slowing down; it was moderate and smooth. And the best part was, I could adjust all of these features in the Drive Assist app.  Let me tell you, friends, the lane change assist was a real highlight! All I had to do was signal, and the car took care of the rest, even while navigating turns. It’s like the car is working with you, not just for you. The heads-up display (HUD) is integrated really well with all the ADAS features, showing real-time updates like a white line beneath the car to show it's matching speed with the vehicle in front.  When I arrived at the resort, I had used around 320 km of range, and I was down to 34% battery. I went to the JioBP charging station, but unfortunately, it couldn’t handle the full 60kW charge. I had to lower the charging speed, but after adjusting it to 30kW, it worked fine. The charging station was a bit pricey, though, and I later found a better 60kW ChargeZone station in Nashik city, but I decided to avoid it to make the return trip in one go.  On the way back, the trip was much smoother. I had a tea break and lunch break, and I was able to run the AC in ECON mode to save energy. The car’s AC is super powerful! Even with it set to 24°C, I felt chilled, and the ECON mode made it more efficient. By the time I got home, I had achieved 7.1 km/kWh before the tea break and 8.3 km/kWh after lunch. Pretty good, right?  Friends, all in all, this trip gave me a lot of confidence. With just a little planning, I can easily use the Mahindra BE6 just like I would any other car. The range, efficiency, and ADAS features made the trip feel almost effortless. I’m definitely looking forward to more road trips with this EV!

Let me tell you, upgrading the audio in your BMW 7 Series can totally change your driving experience! First, I wanted to keep things simple to avoid messing with my car’s warranty, so I went for an OEM-friendly setup. The key part was choosing the right Digital Signal Processor (DSP). I looked at a couple of options but went with the Goldhorn DSPA 1012 Plus because it offered more flexibility — more inputs and outputs, plus RCA pre-outs for future upgrades. I also added Focal speakers to really boost the sound quality. For damping, I used the Dr Artex Silver + Lace 15 combo to keep things isolated and prevent vibrations, which made a big difference in sound control. Now, the sound is clear, dynamic, and full of energy — the highs are crisp, the lows are clean, and the whole audio experience is way more immersive. Plus, working with Ramie at SoundFactor Pro was awesome — the tuning really brought everything together. So, if you're thinking about upgrading your car audio, go for a good DSP, quality speakers, and some sound dampening, and trust me, you’ll notice the difference!

Lexus is building up to the big reveal with teaser images and preview videos. From what we can see so far, the car looks like it’s gotten bigger, with a longer wheelbase, which is a feature that’s particularly popular in China. Why, you ask? Well, the Chinese love having extra rear legroom, and this could be one reason why Lexus is debuting the new ES in China.  The teaser videos also show off some cool features, like sweep-style daytime running lights at the front and a light bar connecting the rear tail lamps. It also has black accents on the bumper and sleek multi-spoke alloy wheels, which give the car a sporty look. Lexus is also hinting that this new ES will come with advanced electrification technologies—meaning an upgraded hybrid powertrain and possibly a plug-in hybrid option. In one of the teasers, there’s even a charging port cap, so it seems pretty likely!  What’s really intriguing, though, is that Lexus is calling this the global flagship. We haven’t tested its DC fast charging yet, but the first time we topped it up was using our office's 22kW AC charger. And oh man, I had Wagon Rs and Altos zooming past me. I felt like I was stuck in slow motion. I crawled to the office with just 6% battery left, plugged in, and finally breathed a sigh of relief.
